Carma Gorman

Carma Gorman writes about American design of the "long" twentieth century, from Frank Lloyd Wright's dress designs of the 1890s to contemporary "faith-based" electronics. She is an associate professor in the Department of Design at the University of Texas at Austin, a former associate editor of the journal Design and Culture, and a past president of the Design Studies Forum. A native midwesterner, she earned a B.A. from Carleton College and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
