L L Helland

Laura L Helland is a Registered Nurse by education, and a writer by passion. She started off writing for the genre Historical/Romance/Fiction, and from a suggestion by her twin sister she made a huge jump to MG/YA Juvenile/Fiction. Helland was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa with her twin sister, older brother and two older sisters. She now lives in San Antonio, Texas with her husband and two grown sons. Her eldest son graduated from MIT Cambridge, Massachusetts, and her youngest attends TCU Fort Worth, Texas. The four main characters in her book are based on real individuals, and their personalities parallel them. She loves animals and will never pass one up who needs her help. She believes reading is the best way for the middle grade and young adult to learn vocubulary, but she still recommends taking a Latin course.
