T. Thurai

T. Thurai studied Medieval History at University College and King's College, London. She worked as a journalist then switched to law, qualifying as a solicitor and working for a number of City firms. However, writing and history have always been her twin passions. Fascinated by stories told by her Sri Lankan husband, she immersed herself in Sri Lankan history and culture in order to write the background for her first novel 'The Devil Dancers', a process that took nine years.

Her second book Barley Bread and Cheese is a collection of short stories inspired by Rochester Cathedral which also provided the venue for the book's launch in 2013.

She is currently working on her third book, a novel set in World War II. She occasionally contributes to various Sri Lankan and Kentish publications. She also writes a blog with a strong emphasis on Kentish history at tthurai.wordpress.com
