An E-Book that Gives a Brief Chronological History of World War 1, the Bolshevik Revolution, World War II, and the Cold War.

Our Century Is a “Must Read” for Any History Enthusiast

Essential Historical Information about the Biggest 20th Century Wars

Begin with the Franco-Prussian War of 1870, a brief but bloody contest which fundamentally and permanently altered the political paradigm in Europe. Continue with World War 1, an unnecessary four-year bloodletting which saw the sudden, violent end of the traditional ruling dynasties on the Continent - the Hapsburgs, Romanovs, Hohenzollerns, and Ottomans - as well as the final collapse of the ancient edifice of Imperial Europe. Discover how the Bolshevik Government in Russia, newly implanted by a brilliant bit of political warfare conducted by the German Government, exploited the wreckage of imperial Europe to foment Marxist revolution through the instrumentality of the Communist International or Comintern. This subterranean International Socialist agitation by Lenin/Trotsky and Stalin sparked the inevitable National Socialist reaction which duly came in the form of Benito Mussolini, Adolf Hitler, Hideki Tojo, and Francisco Franco. This led directly to World War II, the most terrible international war the world had yet seen. This was in turn followed by the so-called Cold War, the nightmare nuclear confrontation between the United States and the "Soviet Union" complete with proxy wars in Korea and Vietnam. This was a time of acute danger when the M.A.D. Docrine (Mutual Assured Destruction) ruled supreme and the world literally skirted on the brink of nuclear Armageddon.

In 1991, the "evil empire" finally took up permanent residence in the dustbin of history but the world is by no means out of the woods. Despite the embrace of crony capitalism, China continues to be ruled by the political descendants of Mao Zedong (A.K.A. Mao Tse-tung). In North Korea, a particularly grotesque residue of the Cold War, the eerily silent, deserted boulevards of Pyongyang attest mutely to the horrors within. These are part of the accumulation of catastrophes which will forever identify the 20th century to future generations. OUR CENTURY masterfully and concisely links together the chain of events before and after each war to show the cause and effect relationship between them and does so in a cohesive, compelling narrative which commands the reader's attention.
