Leon Cooper

Leon Cooper was a "90 Day Wonder," a WWII volunteer who received his commission in 90 days. Three of his four years' Navy service were in the Pacific. He was a landing craft officer, Boat Group Commander for his ship, taking part in six major invasions, landing assault troops on the beaches of the enemy-held island strongholds of Tarawa, Kwajelein, New Guinea, Guam, Philippines and Iwo Jima.

He was CEO and CFO of major corporations, including his own computer company.

During a ten-year period his marketing company sold his patented products throughout the world. He has published his latest book, "The Patent Jungle-The Inventor's Friendly User Guide." It's about his inventions, especially his experiences in obtaining patents for his inventions. Look for it in Amazon books.

He is a a film producer, prize-winning screen writer and published author of four books about the Pacific War.

He produced "Return to Tarawa-the Leon Cooper Story," A documentary that was premiered in 2009 on the Military Channel--was "most viewed" during its first year. It can be viewed on Hulu and Snagfilms. It has been seen by more than a million viewers on Snagfilms alone. It had been licensed to Russian, New Zealand and Australian TV. It's on sale at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and at other book stores.

Leon has been featured in several more documentaries about the Pacific War and the tens of thousands of Americans who are classified as MIA. These films include "Until They Are Home. "Return to the Philippines"-the Leon Cooper Story," "Return to New Guinea-the Leon Cooper Story."

He received his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Illinois and did graduate studies at the University of Michigan.

He's a widower and father of five children. He lives in Malibu, California.
