Robert E. Connolly

Robert E. Connolly was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Government and International Relations from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana as well as a Juris Doctor degree from the same school. Robert was admitted to Indiana Bar in 1977. While in Law School at Notre Dame he served as the head soccer coach for the University team (1975-1977). His association with Ireland, dating back to the late 1970s includes a wide range of pursuits from importing Irish beer into the United States and assisting in the development of Dublin pubs to observing the legal system in Belfast when that part of Ireland was torn by conflict. He qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1996 and in Ireland in 1997. In 2001, after practicing law in Indiana for nearly 25 years, he moved to Ireland and has been practicing in Dublin since that time, primarily representing pubs, restaurants and hotels.

Robert currently lives in the village of Raheny, just north of Dublin along the coast, with his wife Pamela (nee Burke) and their Irish Wolfhound Fionn McCool and Irish Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier, Matilda Doyle.
