Michon Mackedon

Michon Mackedon is a Nevada native and has served for over 30 years as the Vice Chair of the Nevada Commission on Nuclear Projects. She is a retired Professor of English and Humanities at Western Nevada College. She brings both learning and experience to her fascinating account of atomic testing and nuclear waste dilemmas in the American West.

Michon lives in Fallon, Nevada, where she raised her children and now enjoys reading her books, cooking, and tending her garden alongside her husband, Michael, an attorney.

Bombast began as an expression of her astonishment with the ways in which the public at large and especially those living in the shadow of any given nuclear project have been manipulated and misled by promises that "safety" and "sound science" are in charge.

Michon believes that if you saw Oppenheimer, the movie, then you must continue following the story by reading Bombast, the book.
