Although I spent my formative years as a cartoonist, working in greeting cards, newspapers; national and local; in advertising and editorial design work as well as a regular contributor to the Dandy--- the worlds oldest comic---where I wrote and drew Beryl the Peril, Ollie Fliptrik and countless others for the annual, fun sizes and seasonal specials, I moved away from this field a few years back to look into the possibilities of working more on my own projects; to see if I could do for myself what I'd been doing for others, although I still did and indeed still do, work for cartoon and comic clients.
One project, which sprung from a simple conversational statement that I was good with words and had I ever thought of writing a book, was my humorous novels.
After a few none starters and short story attempts I created the wonderfully eccentric world of the villagers of Sleepy Hamlet. The first of which, the night of the Village Idiots, is available for download and soon as a hard copy through CreateSpace. The second, 'Siege Mentality' is well under way as is a collection of Sleepy Hamlet short stories.
Other projects are the children's books. The first, Ryan's Dinosaur Dreams, was based on my grandson's obsession with the monstrous things. More are also in production including a very special bear.
