Shawna Ray is a singer-songwriter, author and communicator. Shawna’s first narrative nonfiction novel Releasing the Catch-22 shares the stories behind 22 songs that will be released in chapters while seeking major publishing starting on 2-22-2020. Author of children’s book “Take a Trip to Diverse City” that encourages acceptance and appreciation of cultural differences.
Lead singer in the Rhythm Ray Band, sharing original social music with a mix of pop neo soul, rock, jazz, blues and jam band styles, Shawna Ray is releasing her new album, Catch 22 will release on 2-22-2020, adding to the first single, GPS for Love that released 1-11-2020. Shawna’s debut album, OPEN released in 2010 with songs including: Butterfy, Breakthrough and Mom (Picture of Love).
Currently living in Nashville, TN – from Columbus, OH, Shawna is an advocate for unity, women’s rights, holistic health and animals. With two decades of experience as a Public Relations professional, Shawna has worked with various organizations as an event and communications director. Shawna earned her BA in Communications specializing in Public Relations from Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio.
In Diverse City, the kids enjoy a variety of food at the Spice of Life Café, explore an array of colors and creations at the Art Shop and listen to different styles of music on the streets. They see how people work together and it changes their perspective. The special edition includes a music CD, where Shawna sings the book with an added chorus, “Diverse City is in a free state of heart and mind, where all are welcome. Diverse City is a free state.
