Tom G. Griffiths

Tom G. Griffiths is a senior lecturer in comparative and international education at the University of Newcastle, Australia. His research has two inter-related trajectories: the development of world-systems analysis as a theoretical framework for politically engaged comparative educational research, and the study of the relationship between models of mass education to support socialist projects informed by this framework. His most recent publications on this area focus on Cuba and Venezuela. His research has consistently sought to explore the ways that education can contribute to the transition of our current world-system toward a more democratic, equal, and just alternative.
