C. L. Neely

C. L. Neely is a native of Northern California and was raised a short distance from the beautiful Sierra Valley. Interest in the local history began at an early age. “Behind Every Hero” is an accumulation of fifteen years of research on the historical details of Sierra County, a book that followed the publication “Graeagle, The History of Mohawk Valley”. Neely's love for books led to the ownership of three bookstores. Cartooning is another love of the author who wrote the children’s story “The Lost Sheep”, illustrated two cookbooks, a magazine article, designed dozens of greeting cards under the Chicken Scratch logo, and was a partner is a sweatshirt design company named 5th Sparrow. C. L. Neely is married with four children and ten grandchildren and is now retired and lives in Utah.
