Robert Godden

Robert Godden is a writer and human resources professional based in Adelaide, South Australia.

He has had several careers - audio engineering, IT sales, running an independent marketing/resumé writing/newsletter publishing company - but found his niche on the research side of HR. As Research Manager of his home town's biggest recruitment agency, he accidentally acquired an insight into human behaviour performing a job that required him to obtain confidential information, locate and excite potential candidates and write long speeches for managers to demonstrate their cleverness and make them sound both amusing and knowledgeable: the latter not even remotely possible on some occasions.

He created an alter ego - The Devotea - to explore his passion for tea, and whilst he has contributed to various journals in his professional spheres it is as a tea blogger and vlogger that he is most widely known globally.

He was smart enough to marry the right woman at 21, and nearly three decades later they have two adult children, a sense of fulfilment and enough cats to have their own reality show.
