Gerard Beauchemin

Jesus has changed my life and gave me great purpose for living. But for most of my Christian life, I was troubled by the thought of an eternal place of suffering (called hell) that most people are said to be destined for. It so often caused doubts to arise in my heart about God. One day, a dear friend and pastor challenged me to study the Greek word "aionios" - mostly translated as eternal in the New Testament. I did so and found that it more closely means "age-abiding" and not eternity in the strictest sense. This opened the door for a deeper look at God's judgments in general, including the spiritual, metaphoric, and purposeful nature of "fire" in the Bible, and how all this relates to His grace promises for all. There is no support for an eternal hell when the Bible is rightly understood. In fact, it is loaded with passages supporting hope beyond hell. Please, if the thought of hell troubles you, consider the evidence presented in my book, "Hope Beyond Hell." Watch the 2 min author video on your right.
