Tom Renk is a Midwesterner that has written two books. The first was a non-fiction book about "Getting Elected-Winning Local Elections. It is a self-help, how-to book to assist first time candidates navigating the challenges of running for public office in a short time span. Renk has been a local elected official for over 16 years in Wisconsin and Illinois and is a frequent speaker on this topic encouraging more citizens to become involved in government.
In June 2011 he wrote a novel, "Journey for Revenge" about the aftermath of the World Trade Center 9-11 terrorist attack. From the ashes, victim's family members band together in grief counseling to deal with their anger and frustration. Seeing little government movement to right wrongs, this intrepid group decides to go after Osama bin Laden and the al Qaeda terrorist network on their own. Coming up with a simple but dangerous plan they draw the reviled terrorists out from beneath their rocks and deliver the ultimate retribution.
With an education in political science and economics, he is old school prefering to pour over the written word in newspapers, magazines, and political opinion. He is the co-owner of a trade association management company in Naperville, IL.
