Laura Bier

Dr. Laura Bier is a social and cultural historian with a specialty in post-colonial Egyptian history. She first became interested in the Middle East when she was six and someone gave her a copy of the Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves. She went on to get a PhD from New York University in History and Middle East Studies in 2006. She currently teaches in the School of History, technology and Society at Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
