Many people helped me find my voice as a writer - Leila Joiner, Jeremy Frey, Richard Shelton, Alison Deming and Barrie Ryan come to mind, but if I narrowed my artistic heroes to one person, Meg Files is the reason I write books. I've had hundreds of teachers, but no one matches Meg's classroom brilliance and her passion for students. As chair, Journalism & English Department, Pima Community College, West Campus, Tucson, and founder/leader of the Pima Writers' Workshop, she has shaped and matured the writing community of Tucson like no other person.
