Besides being a life-long free-lance writer, I've worked as a writer for The Boeing Company, the US Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle architecture and engineering firms, the Saudi Aramco Oil Company, and the Royal Saudi Navy.

Significant technical documents include "Man, the Land and the River," a massive Corps of Engineers report about the often competing demands for Columbia River water; and "Civil Tiltrotors: Missions and Applications," a Boeing report to NASA about possible civilian uses of the US military's "Osprey" tiltrotor, a report that received the Society for Technical Communications' 1990 national award for Best Technical Publication. No comparably noteworthy publications were prepared for Saudi Aramco or the Royal Saudi Navy, but hey, the pay was good!

Now, from my home in a close-in, non-hipster suburb of Portland, OR, I enjoy life with a diminutive, ever-stalwart badger hound, working on mysteries, thrillers and an occasionally factual memoir.

Two of my books were published in 2011: "Mommie Dearest," an Andy Eastman novel, and "Eye Wit," a Yoko Kamimura mystery co-written with Hazel Dawkins. In 2010, I also published my late wife, Elizabeth's, Malice Domestic Award-winning mystery, "Inn Sight." In 2015, Hazel and I published a more extensively illustrated edition of "Eye Witness" (the new title for "Eye Wit"), in Kindle and paperback form.
