M. C. Tillson

When Ms. Tillson and her 4-year old son made their first visit to Copper Harbor on Upper Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula, Ms. Tillson fell head-over-heels in love with the area. After a second visit, she knew she would write a book about that magic place.

The result was her first children’s book, "The Clue at Copper Harbor." When it turned out that there was more magic on the Keweenaw than would fit into one middle-grade chapter book, Ms. Tillson wrote two more books to finish the Michigan Lighthouse Adventure trilogy. She then created another trilogy adventure—this time set on the coast of her native North Carolina and featuring pirates and puzzles as well as lighthouses. Her latest lighthouse adventure trilogy explores Northern California and features Sam and Becky solving mysteries in their own backyard of the San Francisco Bay area.

"Ms. McNair's Fantastic Hair" is Ms. Tillson's latest book. This picture book tells the rhyming story of one teacher's amazing hair and what makes it so very, very special.
