Michael McCormack is a self-taught artist and professional photographer. A graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, with a degree in political science, he moved to Northern New England in the summer of 1994 to be closer to the mountains he dreamed of as a boy and has remained there since. During the ensuing years, he also learned his craft and fell in love with landscape photography.

He has spent over 2 decades traveling the highways & byways of this magnificent region of the world searching for inspiration and beauty through the lenses of his cameras, while simultaneously seeking the ever-elusive perfect shot. Preferring the use of natural light and patience in the field - over digital alteration of images, he still shoots film with his vintage "old school" medium format camera. His work reflects his reverence for nature, while at the same time displays his fascination with the architecture & drama of the urban landscape.

"Timeless Crossings: Vermont's covered bridges" is his first book and was published in the fall of 2011.

His second book of photography, "New England: 4 seasons of wonder" was published in the summer of 2013.
