Malcolm MacKinnon

My name is Malcolm or Calum being my Scottish Gaelic name. I was born on the island of Harris in the Outer Hebrides or Western Isles as it is termed to-day.

At present I am a free-lance photographer and author, although I worked in the construction and engineering professions for 40 to 50 years. I am a retired construction/engineering executive.

I enjoy walking, hill-walking, photography and other outdoor pursuits.

I also undertake fitness activities such as swimming, and in my youth undertook sports such as football, running, judo and other sports. I undertook an apprenticeship in construction/engineering, attended colleges gaining top level qualifications in construction, engineering, design, management, and qualified as a lecturer. I also undertook university courses and gained a University BA (Hons) degree, as well as a top level global management qualification which would allow me to be in management at a senior level with global companies anywhere in the world. Writing children's books is very rewarding for me, as I am able to immerse myself in the characters I write about, in compiling the story and the characters come to life reacting with each other and the story of the book.
