Alex Bentley

Alex Bentley is a professor at the University of Tennessee whose research explores cultural evolution from early human societies to modern digital environments and artificial intelligence. Author of three books with MIT Press and hundreds of academic papers, he wrote Collaborators through Time (Bloomsbury, 2026), which traces two million years of human cooperation and situates AI within the long history of human partnerships with nature and technology.
