Paul Thor

Hello people! I have been writing as a hobby for a few years now: poems; lyrics for songs, novels and short stories. Despite the vicissitudes of life and general setbacks; I have continued to hone and improve my craft. Now I REALLY want a career in as a scribe!

Previously, I have had poetry published and have written three film scripts. Now I am looking for a literary agent to help me in my current endeavours. My extent new non-fiction book is called 'REVOLUTION PLANET EARTH' (about the powers that be and who really runs this planet - NOT conspiracy theories but factual!), with another novel being published early 2019. Some more fiction and non-fiction books are lined up, ready for penning.

I have lived no sheltered life, that I promise you! I was born in Dublin, Ireland as a poor working class lad. So, I know what it means to 'live' life. Oh yes! I remember a time, when I was on annual Scout camp at Lord Baden-Powell's Gilwell Park, in Epping Forest. I was just 10 years old. We went on a day trip to London, visiting Madame Tussauds. I was all alone in the chamber of horrors when the lights went out! Everyone had left and the police and search parties were out looking for me all over London. Kindly, a member of staff at the wax-works found me, bought me a can of coke and a big bar of chocolate and brought me all the way back to the camp site by train. Later that night, the search parties all came back to the campsite and at the campfire, I told them of my amazing adventures in Madame Tussauds and London. I was a big hero!

Another anecdote: Did you every really experience an almost-dead experience? I mean a time when you were 'THIS' close to dying and there was nothing you could do? I did. I have died almost six times. Maybe I am a super breed of cat or something. Anyway, I was on my motorbike one afternoon and I had just roared round a corner at high speed onto a newly re-tarmaced road; when it started to rain! I was getting quite close to a car in front, so I pulled the brakes! Not a wise thing to do! The wheels locked up and I went skidding down the black, oily road, heading ever closer to that looming car. I couldn't stop, couldn't turn - couldn't do anything. I knew I was going to hit this car! I prepared for impact. What else could I do? But for some strange reason, I felt calm - relaxed. I had already taken my hand off the brakes and was just sliding along, when all of a sudden - about 1.5 feet from the back of the car - I got traction again and just turned my bike to the side of the vehicle and rode off home into the sunset. A lucky boy. And that is no lie!

I believe to write well one must study, research but more importantly live and experience life; regardless of how great one's imagination is. I believe writers should be true to themselves and write from their heart and soul, not just be glib and facetious.

I write to make a difference! I write for you! I try and see things from a different point of view and angle than everyone else; and 'think' outside the norm.

As the great W.B. Yeats said: 'The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper!'
