Barry Ozeroff

I was a police officer for 28 years. Born in Warren, OH, I moved to San Diego, CA in 1986 and joined the La Mesa, CA Police Department, where I worked until 1992. I then moved to the Portland, OR area, and took a lateral position with the Gresham Police Department, where I worked until I retired in 2014. While at Gresham PD, I was a patrol officer, school resource officer, public information officer, SWAT sniper, hostage negotiator, traffic motorcycle officer, and a member of the Vehicular Crimes Team. I am currently working as the Lead Court Security Officer at a federal court in Portland, OR. I am married and have 6 adult children and 5 grandchildren.

My first novel, Sniper Shot, a SWAT thriller, was published in 2005. Its sequel, Return Fire, was released in 2012. A stand alone novel, The Dying of Mortimer Post, about a troubled career-LAPD officer and Vietnam vet, came out in 2010. I then wrote Bad Apple, about a police officer-turned-criminal, which has since turned into a trilogy. The second in the series, Bad Apple II: Relative Justice, was released by Ibooks, Inc, in May, 2024. Look for the third, Bad Apple III: Judicial Notice, coming soon.
