Edwin K. Yager

Edwin K. Yager, Ph.D., holds an appointment as Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, University of California at San Diego School of Medicine, and is President of the Subliminal Therapy Institute, Inc., a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) California Corporation. In addition, he maintains a private practice in San Diego where he counsels relationship issues, and employs Subliminal Therapy and the hypnotic principles he teaches.

Dr. Yager is licensed as a Psychologist in California with earlier license as a Marriage Family and Child Counselor. His first career was as an electronic engineer. He is happily married to Gwen with whom he shares evolving generations of children.

Dr. Yager has studied, practiced and taught the clinical use of hypnosis for 40 years. He is certified as “Consultant in Hypnosis” by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and is a Past-President, Board Member and Fellow of the San Diego Society of Clinical Hypnosis. Additionally, he offers training in Subliminal Therapy and hypnosis under the auspices of the San Diego Psychological Association, and worldwide under varied sponsors. Dr. Yager is the author of the textbooks, Foundations of Clinical Hypnosis: From Theory to Practice (2008), and Subliminal Therapy: Using the Mind to Heal (2011), both published by Crown House and available from Kindle. The textbook/self-help book Healing Relationships is also available from Kindle in print and ebook.

In the course of his practice, beyond his role as a marriage and relationship counselor, Dr. Yager has successfully treated thousands of patients who presented a wide variety of psychological problems, as well as psychogenic physical problems.
