Johan Van Parys

Johan M. J. van Parys, Ph.D., a native of Belgium is director of worship and the sacred arts at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis. In addition, he teaches Theology at St. John’s University and is the art director for EnVisionChurch, an electronic resource for art and architecture developed by the Georgetown Center for Liturgy, Spirituality and the Arts. Johan holds graduate degrees in archeology, art history and comparative religious studies from the Catholic University in Louvain, Belgium and a Ph.D. in theology from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana.
