Biodun Abudu

Biodun Abudu is an award winning author, visual artist and creative entrepreneur with Nigerian roots whose work explores identity, culture, relationships, sexuality, vulnerability, social expectations and the truths people are often taught to keep private. He is the author of 12 books spanning poetry, erotic poetry, nonfiction, self help and social commentary.

His work has been recognized by the NYC Big Book Award and The BookFest Awards. This Wasn’t for the Public was named a 2026 NYC Big Book Award Distinguished Favorite in Cultural & Social Issues, while Notes to Self: A Human’s Journey received 1st Place in Self Help, Motivation and Open Letters From Within received 2nd Place in Poetry at The BookFest Awards.

Abudu has appeared at literary and cultural events including BookCon, the Black British Book Festival, the New York City Poetry Festival, Harlem Book Festival, the New York Black and African Literature Festival and the University of Nottingham’s Black Sexual Politics Symposium. In 2026, six of his books were selected for the Literature & Libations Author Shelf at CultureCon in Brooklyn.

Through his books and public conversations, Abudu continues to create space for honest discussions around identity, culture, vulnerability, silence and the experiences people are often encouraged to keep private.
