I was born in Spokane, WA and graduated from high school in Richland, WA, the site of the Hanford Atomic Energy plant. From there I went on to school in California and Washington State, graduating from USC and WSU. Much of my career was spent in a corporate environment, but during all this time I was drawn to my love of orchids and writing. I started an orchid nursery which I owned for 10 years, then retired early to spend the rest of my life as a writer.
I've always loved murder mysteries and so there was never a question that I'd be writing them too. The first book in the Cassandra Nottingham series was "Cass and the Gluttonous Gardener", followed by "Cass and the Mad Musician" and "Cass and the Dogged Detective." Currently I'm working on my 4th mystery (not a Cass book this time, but a police mystery)set in the 1950s and influenced by a true story. I love to walk and hike with my miniature poodle, Boswell, read 18th C. English history, and, of course, mysteries, especially police procedurals. One of my all-time favorites is Reginald Hill. Lately I've enjoyed the novels of John Banville, and the mysteries written under his pen name, Benjamin Black. Like many mystery lovers I dip back into Agatha Christie mysteries and always enjoy them.
