Benjamin Dunn is a wandering American artist, a Midwest native who slipped the leash at eighteen and stuck his thumb into the great bloodstream of the country, hitchhiking west until the continent gave out and the Pacific started breathing in his face. He slept on beaches and under the stars, learned the language of neon and tide and asphalt, and never quite came back, his artistic voice has remained untamed ever since.

Since then he has drifted through the bright and broken corners of the world — leper colonies, garbage dumps, slums, bus stations, sanctuaries, stages, kitchens, living rooms, long roads between nowhere and somewhere — collecting human stories the way other people collect souvenirs. He walked out of that life entirely and disappeared into a far more volatile atmosphere, resurfacing as The Wild Wild, releasing records through Sony and plunging into a hallucinatory Los Angeles existence of sleepless studios, neon-drenched freeways at dawn, strange apartments full of artists, misfits, and beautiful trouble, exotic nights that bled into one another, fever-dream neighborhoods humming until sunrise, beautiful excess, private wreckage, and the peculiar glamour of a life no longer pretending to be safe.
