Ruth Levine (1955-) was born in Brooklyn, New York, and currently resides in Morganville, New Jersey with her husband and two grown children. At the age of 47, she decided to go back to school to become an occupational therapist. Immediately after completing her master's degree in that field, she was diagnosed with stage IV colorectal cancer - which usually does not have a very good prognosis. Ruth used all means possible to overcome cancer - including Reiki, and she completely changed her lifestyle to an "anti-cancer" one. This includes exercise 4-5 days a week and maintaining a low-fat diet void of processed foods and preservatives. She wrote a memoir, Cancer Warrior: Where the Mind Goes, in order to chronicle her successful battle with colorectal cancer and to inspire others who are undergoing a huge challenge or a devastating diagnosis. She currently works as an occupational therapist in sub-acute rehabilitation. This is her first book.
