Paul Robinson is a British author and thyroid patient advocate. The focus of his books and work is on helping patients recover from hypothyroidism. Any thyroid patient who continues to have on-going symptoms of hypothyroidism would find value in Paul Robinson's books.
Paul became ill with hypothyroidism just before he was thirty years of age. He will be sixty-five this year (2023). Over the past 35 years, he has researched and has accumulated a wealth of knowledge on thyroid and adrenal dysfunction. His scientific background enabled him to fight through the morass of misinformation and recover his health. He is now an established expert on hypothyroidism and how to recover from it. Paul Has been working with thousands of thyroid patients through various social media over the past 15 years to help them also recover their health.
Paul, was put on the most common thyroid treatment to begin with - Levothyroxine (also known as Synthroid, or T4-therapy). However, the majority of his symptoms of hypothyroidism remained, much like they do for many on T4-therapy. Over time he became even more ill, with both low cortisol and low thyroid symptoms.
Paul saw many endocrinologists and doctors. Many of these were privately paid for, as he got more desperate and worried about losing his career. Eventually, he realised that he had to figure out what was wrong himself. During this time, he was told, "You will have to live with it". "You have chronic fatigue syndrome". "You cannot have a thyroid issue, as your thyroid results are within range". All of these were nonsense!
The costs of being so ill for so long were great. Over a 10-year period, the struggle had cost him his career, and many relationships were damaged. Some never recovered.
However, eventually Paul found a way to treat his hypothyroidism correctly for him. Once he had recovered Paul's family doctor suggested that he write about it.
Paul now has published three books, that together form the 'Recovering from Hypothyroidism series':
In the 'Recovering with T3' book he describes how he recovered from thyroid and adrenal hormone issues. The book is aimed at those patients who cannot get well with T4-therapy or mostly T4 combined with some T3 thyroid hormone (Liothyronine). It comes Paul's own story, in-depth information on the thyroid hormones and on T3 thyroid hormone in particular. Importantly, the book covers the safe and effective protocol that Paul developed for using the T3 thyroid hormone (Liothyronine). This protocol is explained in detail in the 'Recovering with T3' book. The book also includes the innovative protocol that he used to correct very low cortisol.
In 'The Thyroid Patient's Manual' Paul has provided a practical manual for the thyroid patient who is learning about thyroid hormones, hypothyroidism and how to correct it in their particular case. Everyone is different and we all need to have the right levels of thyroid hormones for us in order to feel well. It will help any patient, whether they merely suspect thyroid disease, or are already under treatment that may not be going well. It covers all types of thyroid medications (not just T3). It is also consistent with recent research findings, regarding thyroid diagnosis and treatment and will help patients and doctors alike. Thyroid UK has described the new book, as ‘essential reading’ for all hypothyroid patients. It has been given 5-star reviews by most readers on Amazon. Its main goal is to provide enough information to enable a thyroid patient to get well as fast as possible.
The final book of the series, is called 'The CT3M Handbook'. CT3M stands for the Circadian T3 Method, which is the protocol that can be used to rectify low cortisol. This is an innovative method that is described in 'Recovering with T3'. However, it needed this companion book, 'The CT3M Handbook' to add more details on the protocol for those people who find that CT3M is an essential part of their recovery.
All three books are available with 'Look Inside' on Amazon websites across the world, so you can look at a selection of pages and get a feel for what the books are about.
Paul has now been taking T3-Only (T3-monotherapy) for over 20 years. He has worked with thousands of thyroid and adrenal patients, via many Internet forums, and some 1-1 coaching sessions. He knows that every individual thyroid patient needs a solution that suits him or her. All the thyroid hormone treatments have a role.
Everyone can get well. The reality is that with the right form of treatment, and understanding of research findings over recent years, it is usually possible for a patient to regain their health within months. If the thyroid patient can recover swiftly this can often prevent other health issues developing. Making a fast recovery can also limit any damage to career or job security and reduce any stress on relationships with others.
Paul Robinson has now spent over half of his life studying thyroid hormone issues and the most effective ways to fix these. He is also highly skilled in helping hypothyroid patients who require help in their own journey to recover from hypothyroidism.

Paul believes that the current paradigm of thyroid treatment is not working and that a new approach is needed. His books discuss this and 'The Thyroid Patient's Manual' book outlines what the new paradigm of thyroid treatment should look like.
Everyone is entitled to good health!
