Tobias Hagmann

Tobias Hagmann researches the political sociology of post-colonial states, the causes and consequences of violent conflict and natural resource management in the global South. He has worked more than ten years in peace and conflict research with swisspeace, graduated with a PhD in public administration from the Swiss Graduate School of Public Administration IDHEAP (2007) and has followed Ethiopian and Somali politics since 1998. He is currently an associate professor at the Department of Society and Globalisation at Roskilde University in Denmark, an associate researcher at the Department of Geography at the University of Zürich, Switzerland and a fellow at the Rift Valley Institute (UK/Kenya).
