Nicola Pittam

Nicola Pittam is a British screenwriter (features and TV), award winning author and former Fleet Street journalist.

She has been living and working in the US for the past 24 years as a celebrity news journalist.

She was Head of News and Features at Splash News for 13 years which supplied news and features to a variety of publications in the U.S. and the U.K. including the New York Post, USA Today, People Magazine, Us Weekly, TMZ, RadarOnline, London Times, The Telegraph, The Sun, The Mirror, Daily Mail, Hello! and OK.

She now owns and runs her own celebrity news agency - Focus News Agency.

Nicola is co-author with Harrison Cheung of the new biography on Oscar winning actor Christian Bale. Christian Bale: The Inside Story of the Darkest Batman is being published in April 2012 by BenBella.

She has also written a biography with Angie Best - ex-wife of England's most famous soccer player George Best and fitness trainer to world-renowned entertainer Cher. George And Me: An Autobiography (ISBN 1852279028) was published in the U.K. by Virgin Publishing in September 2001.

Her TV pilot House of the Rising Sun made the Bitch List 2019 and also placed in the semifinals of both the Shore Scripts TV contest and the Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards 2019.

House of the Rising Sun is currently under option with actress Jennifer Finnigan (Salvation & Tyrant) attached.

Her TV pilot The Maid was finalist in the NYC International Screenplay Awards and quarterfinalist in: Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards, Scriptapalooza, The Atlanta Film Festival Screenplay Awards and Cinestory.

Her latest feature script Ode To Joy was the winner of the Write Like A Girl script contest, placed in the Top Ten of Roadmap's Top Tier contest and the semi-finals at the Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards 2019. Nicola also won Roadmap’s Elevator Pitch Contest with her pitch for Ode To Joy.

The latest book she worked on and edited - Vow of Silence - is being published in the UK in September 2021 by Mardle Books and is now available for pre-order.
