J. Logan grew up in New Hampshire. At 18, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in West Berlin, West Germany where he served as an electronic intelligence operations specialist during the dismantling of the Berlin Wall, the Soviet withdrawal from East Germany and German reunification. After Europe he was transferred to the Strategic Air Command in Nebraska where he also attended night school, eventually graduating Magna Cume Laude. He then transferred to the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant in the Military Police Corps. Later, J. received a law degree from the University of Nebraska. He spent more than a decade practicing law for several government agencies as a criminal prosecutor. During this time he was also reactivated as a M.P. Captain in the U.S. Army and served as Brigade Provost Marshal in Ramadi, Anbar Province, Iraq for 12 months in 2005 and 2006.
