Deborah Barrett

Deborah Barrett is a clinical associate professor of social work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a psychotherapist at UNC Department of Psychiatry, where she works with individuals and groups. Her book, Paintracking, emerged from the process she used to predict and improve her own experience with chronic pain. Over its book's lengthy incubation period, Barrett incorporated insights into the book from her professional experiences as a sociologist (PhD, Stanford, 1995) and clinical social worker (MSW, University of North Carolina, 2004). This is the book Barrett wished someone had handed her when her pain first began.
