An award-winning writer whose work celebrates the feminine in God and God in the feminine, Monette speaks, writes and blogs about the sacred feminine and ways to experience it through yoga and other spiritual practices.
Her first book, Sophia Rising: Awakening Your Sacred Wisdom Through Yoga (Bright Sky Press, 2013), garnered numerous awards including the Illumination Book Award (gold medal in the spirituality category), as well as the Hoffer Small Press and First Horizon Awards. She has written for Yoga Journal, Integral Yoga Magazine, Elephant Journal, Om Times and Progressive Christianity.
Monette has contributed to anthologies including Jesus Muhammad & the Goddess, Whatever Works: Feminists of Faith Speak and A Journey Toward Home: Soul Travel from Advent to Lent. Her short fiction was featured in Clapboard House Literary Journal’s Eudora Welty tribute issue and subsequently appeared in Southern Fried Weirdness’s Reconstruction, an anthology fundraiser for tornado relief. My Name is Lilith (The Girl God, 2017) is her first children’s book.
