Kaden Hurley

I live in the southern area of the fabulous keystone state, Pennsylvania. In PA, I live with my mother, my father, and my younger sister, Jenna. My family always encourages me to do my best and assists me when I need it. Our family pet is a lovable black lab/border collie mix we named Siya. All the books, money, clothing, everything in the world could not mean more to me than my family.

I spend almost all my time with my family and friends. My two best friends, Zachary and Rebekah, have been my friends since kindergarden and play a key role in my life. Whenever I have the opportunity, I read fantasy novels. Some of my favorite books and authors are Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling, Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan, Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls, and Warriors by Erin Hunter. All these outstanding authors are what really inspired me to write. I wanted to be just like them, entertaining millions of people around the world. I began to write in second grade, writing small stories for the newspaper. My writing grew, as did my reading interests. Being a published author is an amazing experience - a dream come true for me!

Apart from writing, I absolutely adore music! My favorite genres of music are rock and pop. Music always helps me to relax and sort out my thoughts. I also own a clarinet and participate in my school’s band program. Outside school, I play for a local fastpitch softball team. I’m one of our pitchers. Also, in school, I am a cheerleader. Speaking of school, it’s one of my top priorities. School is very important to me because I know it will shape the rest of my life. I study for tests and quizes, complete my homework, and I was recently accepted into our school’s National Junior Honor Society!
