Dr O'Kane is a Consultant Physician at Brighton and Sussex University Hospital. He was formerly an Acute Medicine physician in Leicester and then Clinical Director for Acute Medicine in Hertfordshire and then Stroke Lead for 15 years. He graduated in Medicine from The Queen's University Belfast in 1991 with first prizes in medicine and the Alison Medal in neurology. He has an MD in Cardiovascular medicine. He has a DipCompSci from the University of Cambridge. He is interested in medical education. He has produced the app at https://abcmedicalnotes.com and runs a teaching website for stroke at neurovascularmedicine.com. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London) He was Chair of the Education and Training committee of the British Association of Stroke Physicians. His interest is in teaching medical students and junior doctors.
