Tom is also the Founder of Pattern Play Math, a right brain approach to math that plays with the fun and amazing simple patterns in numbers. Kids, teachers, and parents get fascinated with the easy patterns and learning math becomes a positive and effective way to learn addition, the times tables, and lots of math concepts. Tom has presented in schools and to Math Teacher conventions. He has filmed 4 television shows of "PATTERN PLAY MATH" which are in editing and more are planned. He is a semi-retired teacher who taught an advanced math course. He then taught test preparation for Math and English, and saw that many students have a negative attitude about math that kept them from learning. Since he was convinced that numbers are interesting, his focus was on getting students curious about numbers. He had no intention of creating a math teaching system. This fun, right-brain approach is the result of working with individual students. He also has a Masters in Counseling, which helped him to be attentive to how students can change their outlook on Math.
