Sandy Hill

Sandy Hill was bitten by the writing bug in school. After a career as a data analyst and mission controller on the NASA Pioneer space shot to Jupiter Sandy took on a second career. She married Gene and today their family consists of two married children and four grandchildren, and one adorable dog named Bentley. Next Sandy launched into a third career as a children’s writer. She enjoys writing fiction and nonfiction illustrated picture books for her favorite audience, children ages five to nine. Challenged by the plight of trafficked children, Sandy and Gene created a nonprofit organization, and Sandy became a speaker against child trafficking. They donate profits from Sandy’s books to make their dream come true, no child trafficked, ever!

On Safari to See the Animals and the Birds

Non-fiction

Sandy and her husband, Gene, are photographers. Sandy has combined their photographs and facts about animals and birds into a book. Her innovative format for the book is a guessing game. Hints are given and the young child guesses what is the animal or bird? They turn the page and are rewarded with a breathtaking photograph of the animal or bird.

Christian Themed Picture Books

Some of Sandy’s picture books are based on Christian principles and faith. Her Seed, Plant, Harvest book illustrates the concept that a person reaps what they sew. Because this book ends with a Christmas scene, it would make a good Christmas gift for a young reader.

Read, Imagine, Draw Books

Do your children like to draw? Sandy created the Read, Imagine, Draw series of books for budding artists. Each book includes an interesting story and pages where the child can imagine an illustration for that part of the story and draw their concept. The child is credited as the book illustrator.

Story Monster Award

All of her Read, Imagine, Draw books are Story Monster Approved. When you see the Story Monster sticker, it means the book has been reviewed by a panel of industry experts, and then reviewed by a panel of children. If two thumbs up, it is Story Monster approved for a child to devour.
