Joanne Macgregor

Joanne Macgregor is the author of several gripping, darkly funny books for Young adults, including he Law of Tall Girls, Hushed, Scarred, Recoil, Refuse, Rebel, and — for younger teens and tweens — Turtle Walk, Rock Steady and Fault Lines.

When not writing, Macgregor is a psychologist in private practice where she works with all kinds of clients, and she brings her twenty-five years of experience as a therapist to her writing, creating deeper characters and realistic psychological reactions. She started her professional life as a high school English teacher and loves writing about, and for, teens. She also writes adult fiction under the name Jo Macgregor, and non-fiction (psychological self-help) under the name J. Macgregor.

She lives in a small, beautiful seaside town, is in love with nature and chilies, and despairs of ever properly training her charm-monster of a beagle!
