CN James' short story "The Dark Room" won honorable mention in the 78th Annual Writer's Digest Writing Competition for genre short story. Along with his wife, Amy Joy, he is the author of four novels, including The Ghostlands (YA romantic sci-fi) and Bone Machine (adult sci-fi) and two children’s books, The Explorers of Lost Lane: The Magic Room and Frog Kisses: A What Happens Next™ Fairytale based on the Grimm Brothers’ “The Frog Prince”.

Outside of the world of fiction, he has taught private guitar instruction for over 20 years and is the author of over two dozen Missing Method for Guitar books, written under the name Christian J. Triola. He enjoys jazz, alternative rock, watching 80's cartoons, hiking and biking the national parks with his wife, and experiencing stories with monsters in them.
