Jayson M Brunelle

My vocation has afforded me the great honor of walking alongside my brothers and sisters in Christ, offering, with God's grace and to the best of my ability, whatever small assistance I can in shouldering some of their burdens. I've heard it said that a good therapist multiplies joys and divides sorrows. To that I'd add: a good therapist also offers a trained, objective presence — a light in the fog of emotionally-laden subjectivity.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I've worked in private practice and community mental health centers, providing clinical care to populations spanning children, adolescents, adults, families, and those mandated to care. My academic path and personal life experience have shaped how I think about this work as much as my clinical hours have: a BA in Theology and Philosophy, followed by a Master of Education and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study from Springfield College.

Alongside clinical practice, I've had the privilege of teaching — as an adjunct professor, graduate teaching assistant, and invited lecturer — covering such topics as abnormal psychology, personality theory, lifespan development, and group counseling. I've also written and presented at conferences on the questions that provoke and fuel my intellectual fascination and curiosity: Thomistic psychology, spirituality, and what it looks like to genuinely integrate faith with mental health care, rather than treating the two as separate rooms in the same house.
