Miriam Jaskierowicz Arman

Miriam Jaskierowiz Arman was born in post war Germany of concentration camp surviving parents, who immigrated to America in 1962. Educated in both the United States and Europe, Miriam has lived and taught for over 35 years in many parts of the world including; Israel, Italy, Hungary, Switzerland, Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Mexico and South America.

Her life has been a kaleidoscope of activity. In 1982, Miriam founded Music Culture/Visions International Inc. For twenty-six years she wrote, directed, hosted and produced various radio and television shows in the US and Europe, producing for international recording labels (Olympia, Naxos etc.), by taking lost music from Russia and the Ukraine to be presented to the world at large. Filmed in Recanati, Italy, Miriam Executive Produced and directed the feature film, “Ten Tenors from Ten Countries”, which was dedicated to the life and 100th Birthday celebration of Beniamino Gigli.

Miriam’s intimate involvement with vocal technique and vocal reconstruction began 40 years ago with the founding of The International Academy of Voice and Stage Inc., a Non-Profit organization, dedicated to the advancement of Bel Canto and Giro Vocal Motion© Technique. Her work in the field of Vocal Pedagogy has been featured on ABC World News Now, PBS, Comcast Television, among others and she has received outstanding awards from The University of Enna, La Societa´ Italiana della Medicina, and the International PREMIO VIRDIMURA award from The University of Catania for her work in Voice, Autism and Human Rights.

Ms. Arman authored the International Best Seller on vocal technique entitled, “The Voice; A Spiritual Approach to Singing, Speaking and Communicating” in 1999 and in 2000 she released, “The First Lesson” on CD followed by subsequent editions to the book (The Revealed Version).

Collaborating with her passionate dedication and work with the voice, Miriam’s dynamic fine art career spans over 30 years. Highlighted by prestigious exhibitions in galleries and museums in many parts of the world, Miriam has been the recipient of important grants and worldwide recognition for her innovative works in holographic and three-dimensional glass fusions. Listed in the “Who’s Who” on International Poetry, Ms. Arman’s book entitled “Soul Reflections, A Personal Odyssey in Poetry and Paintings”, along with the companion CD, with originally composed music by cellist Mme. Johanne Perron, was released in 2003. And her 2007 memoir entitled, “Coming Home”, outlines her arrival and life in the Lubavitch Community of Crown Heights, New York, featuring speeches in the political arena and deeply recognizing and saluting her spiritual values.

Finally deciding that that the only place in the world where the real Bel Canto has its home is Italy, Ms. Arman moved to Reggio de Calabria in 2018 and opened The Academy “L’Academia per lo Sviluppo della Voce, Ebraismo e Kabbalah” (The Academy of Voice Development, Torah and Kabbalah), where she has since been totally involved in bringing Giro Vocal Motion Vocal Technique© to Italy, and to the rest of the world. Here in Reggio de Calabria her second book in Italian, “La Voce - Giro Vocal Motion© Il Segreto del Bel Canto” was published in May of 2019 followed by her most recent work, “The Voice – Giro Vocal Motion – The Secret of Bel Canto” and, “REVEALED: THE SECRET CODES OF THE VOICE IN THE ZOHAR, both featured on Amazon.

In October of 2019, Miriam relaunched her artistic career in Europe with a fine arts retrospective at the “Liceo Preti Frangipani” in Reggio Calabria and in 2018 published her most recent prize winning book of Italian poetry entitled, “Riflessioni dell’Anima – Il Cammino”.

Her plans are many and the work continues; master classes and private lessons in various venues and universities, lectures throughout Italy on interreligious relations, where she is frequently called upon by the Jewish Community and Christian counterparts to facilitate dialogue and inter-cultural relationships and faithfully followed live lectures on various social media platforms.

It is with great honor and pride that I nominate Miriam Jaskierowiz Arman as visionary and Educator for the Ted-Ed Award.
