Steven Bové was born in New York City. His grandparents immigrated to New York after World War I where his grandfather fought for the allies. In fact, Antonio and his wife were given boat passes aboard the Duca d' Aosta from Napoli to Ellis Island for his service. Steven, whose middle name is Anthony in honor of his grandfather, developed his passion for writing early as is evidenced in his first book "A face for TV, but a Body for Radio." On his most recent book, "Uncle Steve's African Adventure", he shifted gears combining his love of writing with his love of the animal world.
