Guy Hallowes

Guy Hallowes was born and schooled in Kenya. His father was a farmer in what was then (inappropriately) known as the 'White Highlands'.

Guy's books deal with the momentous changes that have occurred in Africa over the past fifty or sixty years. The first three books (NO HAPPY VALLEY, WHAT THE CROCODILES DON'T EAT.....and NO PEACE FOR THE WICKED are a trilogy called the 'WINDS OF CHANGE TRILOGY'. His fourth book ROUGH DIAMONDS deals with the effects on the local population of the discovery of diamonds in South Africa in the latter part of the nineteenth century.

These books offer authenticity; the geography and the history of the periods are accurate, although the people are all imaginary. Many of the incidents in the books are based on actual events: for example the elephant charge in NO HAPPY VALLEY happened to the author.

Guy Hallowes has lived in Kenya, UK, South Africa and Botswana.
