I was born in Yugoslavia to ex-pat American parents. We subsequently moved to Zambia where my father worked as a librarian for the University of Lusaka and one of my sisters was born. We traveled a lot in Africa and saw things like the Pyramids at Giza, Victoria Falls (where as a three year old I ran atop a low stone wall on the edge of the falls to the horror of my mother), and ancient paintings in a cave that was inhabited by hyenas... It was a very rich experience.

I first developed an interest in Fantasy literature at age 10 when I read The Hobbit. As I grew older, I read Conan comics and learned how to play Dungeons and Dragons, meanwhile feeding a voracious novel reading habit. A series of emails between friends about a D&D game we were playing in 2006 evolved into my first writings about Stub and his companions. As I wrote more, it eventually became other than just notes on the game - it became a real story.

Today, I live in Portland, Oregon with my lovely wife. I still play D&D and continue writing stories for the Oreth..
