Kate Matthews

Author/Illustrator Kate Matthews was once an aspiring engineer, but around kid no. 3, she threw in the towel and opted for a more traditional career path, following the barefoot and pregnant model. Eventually Kate tried her hand at being an entrepreneur, but her most recent endeavor has been to recover from cancer.

Treatment inspired her newest career, that of as an accidental cartoonist. Her first book, a wry and humorous insider's look at the breast cancer "experience" was published in June of 2012. The Little Pink eBook of Cancer Cartoons went on to storm Amazon's best seller list in the remarkably narrow (I.e. nonexistent) category of oncological humor.

Modest and unassuming, Kate hates self-promotion in all forms. She absolutely refuses to give interviews or allow photos, so don't bother asking! Also, please don't tell your friends about this book or anything else she does, as like most other authors and entrepreneurs, she obviously prefers to wallow in obscurity.
