CD Damitio is a novelist and a vagabond (aka Vago the Vagobond). He writes philosophical adventure fiction
from wherever he can afford to live — usually Otaru on the north coast of Japan, sometimes Phuket, Chiang Mai, Honolulu, Sefrou, Manisa, Shanghai, Hanoi, Seoul, Lisbon, Grenada, or a 1977 VW bus somewhere on the USA's West Coast. He's been mostly location-independent since his twenties.
His books and essays appear on his personal website Indignified, which runs at the same but with a dot com. Subscribers know it as the place where the fiction, the philosophy, and the field reports all converge.
Blue Eyed Bastards (2021) is his most-discussed book — the earliest known novel co-authored with a modern transformer-based generative AI system in which the AI is credited as a named co-author on the cover. The AI named itself Mike Davis when CD asked. Both names are on the spine. Book 2 ships June 5, 2026.
With more than thirty books written, he crosses genres but most of his books are about people looking for something - and often finding it. Petshitter is more than a Silicon Valley romance, it's a critique of modern tech itself. Notes from Nowhere is a blueprint for a better world.
He's the founder of W3WU (a public collaborative worldbuilding wiki) and Xcrol (a privacy-first social network), and the creator of Baoism — a portable framework for meaning that refuses to become a course.
