Jill Rutherford

Jill Rutherford is the author of best-selling memoir, Cherry Blossoms, Sushi and Takarazuka Seven Years in Japan, and the Secret Samurai Trilogy which was listed as one of the seven must-read Japan related novels by Savvy Tokyo Magazine.

Jill fell in love with Japan and lived there for seven years, running her own successful business.

Writing has always been a passion and since returning to the UK Jill has been writing historical fiction. The Rocking Stone is a romantic suspense and mystery set in the cruel poverty of the South Wales mining valleys of the early 20th century. Tama, the Extraordinary Cat, is a short story based on the true life of a cat who saved a railway company and became a goddess. A story for children of all ages. Jill's latest book is Oatlands, Through Closed Doors, a Regency novel of royalty and their servants. When Jill is not writing you will find her reading books, walking her dog, meeting friends, drinking coffee and red wine.
