Ruth Chandler

I am Ruth Chandler, co-author of the best selling book Fabric Embellishing the Basics and Beyond.

I grew up in Japan and my art and needlework has a distinct Japanese influence. I love the hand stitching of sashiko and the Japanese style of indigo dying. I have taken these traditional techniques into the art quilt world and have enjoyed adding a new twist to an ancient art form.
